Founded in 2015, the vocal quartet A Bocca Chiusa stands out for its passion for a cappella vocal polyphony. From the beginning, the group has attracted attention, notably at the 2016 FIMU in Belfort, where it received the “Coup de Cœur de la Fondation Orange” award. Since then, the group has performed at prestigious festivals such as In Voce Veritas, Voce Humana, and En Voix!, as well as at renowned venues like Les Dominicains de Haute Alsace and La Cité de la Voix. In 2022, the quartet participated in the “Jeunes Ensembles” program.

Innovative Performances by the Quartet

The quartet is known for its two shows, “Name That Tune” and “Il Était Une Nuit,” which showcase an innovative approach to a cappella polyphony. Led by Françoise Galais and Emmanuel Ménard, the group reimagines the classical form by presenting diverse and eclectic programs. The singers are dedicated to exploring a broad repertoire while showcasing original pieces they have reinterpreted. Many of their arrangements are custom-made, reflecting their creativity and desire to personalize their art.

In June 2023, A Bocca Chiusa recorded its first album in partnership with Noé Michaud and L’Arche Production, with the unwavering support of the Cité de la Voix.

When four lovers of a cappella polyphony bonded through friendship and a shared passion for fantasy, the result was A Bocca Chiusa and a tailor-made musical adventure, sweet and full of life!
